Instead of searching for a local printer, you browse
the network:
Choose Start | Printers and Faxes.
In the Printers and Faxes window, click Add a Printer under Printer Tasks.
This starts the Add Printer Wizard. Click the Next button.
The next dialog box, shown in Figure 4-3, gives you choices to look for a local
or network printer. Choose the A Network Printer, or a Printer Attached to
Another Computer radio button and then click the Next button.
In the Specify a Printer dialog box of the Add Printer Wizard, shown in
Figure 4-4, choose Browse for a Printer and then click the Next button.

Windows presents a list of all shared printers found on your network, as
shown in Figure 4-5. Select the printer you are looking for and then click the
Next button.
The Connect to Printer message box shown in Figure 4-6 appears, indicating
that a driver for this printer must be installed. Click the Yes button to
continue with the driver installation. If there is a driver available for this
computer??™s operating system, it will be installed. The driver installation may
take a minute or two. If no suitable driver can be found, you need to check
the printer manufacturer??™s web site for an updated driver to support your
operating system.
