Optical Wireless Mesh Networks
by Prasanna Adhikari
The optical wireless mesh network brings together two technologies: optical and mesh
networking. Optical wireless technology uses a wireless infrared optical signal to transport
high bandwidth data over distances in the range of tens of meters to hundreds of meters.
It has the benefit of being able to deliver data rates comparable to that of fiber-optic
cables with the added flexibility of wireless communication.
