note that Ethernet demarcation devices also enable Ethernet services quickly (i.e.,
speed to market), relatively easily (i.e., it is easy to augment current last mile technology
solutions with a standalone EDD), and ultimately cost effectively. The IEEE 802.1aj
(two-port relay) effort is considering standardizing such a functionality.
